Thank you! I have to get better at searching. Sorry about that.
Damn, he explains it all. How did I miss this??? So by using the pinch welds to jack the car up, I didn’t have the best place available for the jack stands since my jack was using them. Very interesting. I wish car companies would have big round or square jack points that make it obvious to a DIYer. Even color code them! I mean, if Eric said people have gotten killed doing this, maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Again, thanks for the help. I think I got it now.
Thanks a lot. I’ll watch it asap. I’m a member of a million forums so I know the etiquette of asking questions before searching, and I did search online but couldn’t find exactly what I wanted to know.
I just watched the Ford Explorer wheel bearing video and that one seemed like an even bigger nightmare. How do extra-long jobs like this affect what you charge a customer? You quote them a price but if it takes you twice as long as you estimated, you eat that cost? Can you call someone and say, hey, I need to hit you with 2 more hours of labor?
When you do a job like this, how do you know how many brackets it has and other specs you need to know? Experience? Eye-balling? Shop manuals? Great work getting that rack out of there. Looked difficult.
I think we have a miscommunication. The actual kit itself is showing as sold out everywhere. Also, the link you just posted is invalid. Sorry for being a PITA!
Yep! Unfortunately it’s not in stock anywhere online. I’m wondering if it’s been discontinued.
What’s that handgun tool you often use with your compressor? You had the green cleaning disc on it for this video. I could use a hand tool like that.
Thanks, Eric. Seems like someone could invent a better valve since they so easily rust and break off.
A couple questions. 1. Would a ratchet be a better tool for trying to break free a stuck bleeder valve? Maybe I’m wrong but it seems like a combination wrench would apply more ‘sideways’ force causing it to break most easily? 2. Ever put anti-seize on a bleeder valve when installing a new caliper since they so often get stuck? Keep up the good work.
