ford lightning pick up[quote=”Tedybear315″ post=111363]Watch yourself on the cylinder ridge. You’ll also need to probably enlist a machine shop to press the wrist pin on/off the new piston. If there is no ridge, that’s a good thing. You’ll need to correctly measure the ring gaps, install, etc…

does not seem to be a ridge. i will use a machine shop to set up the new piston if i decide to go this route. thanks

update- i am ready to put this motor back together. i was reading threw my repair manual and it states that you can remove the oil pan on this truck with out removing the engine. an axle will have to be removed to get clearance. so if i can remove the oil pan then why can’t i replace this one piston. any thoughts. the piston and new rings is about $30 dollars. thanks

You definitely have a vacume leak in the evap system.your fuel trim problems could be 02 sensor related. I have a c230 for the past 7 years and all hesitation problems have been vacume leaks

The motor has 140,000 on it but it must of been rebuilt at some point. The engine has no sludge anywhere and all the gaskets including the head gasket look almost new. I rotaded the engine and nothing is scraping so im going to try my luck.if all fails I will pick up a short block and make a youtube vide of the swap Thanks for the advise
