You need to check and or service e the box system. There are videos on YouTube to show you how. Take a rubber glove start and warm the engine. Take the oil cap off and place the glove over the top of the oil filler opening like a balloon. If the glove blows up the box system will have to be serviced. This involves removing the fuel rail and injectors and several other things to replace the box system. The positive crankcase system.

        So I
Looked at two Crv’s one was a 2005 with a 2.4 engine and the other was a 2000 not sure on the engine. Both have about the same mileage. What are your thoughts?

Yep thanks for the reply Eric. Valve lash seems to be ok. The intake valvses on the number two cylinder seemed just a tad tight but not what I would call a problem. All the others seemed to be ok. I will have to do a leak down test but I have all ready made offers to the local Honda dealer on two Accords. will will see what they say. I sure wished I could have gotten a few more months out of it.

No it’s a burner. I did a quick compression test this afternoon and the number two cylinder has 30psi of compression. Other cylinders are 150 psi. I am going to check the valve lash in the morning. Sounds like new car time. Thanks for the reply.

Ok went to the salvage yard and bought a ecm and installed it onto the car. Drove 27 miles and it seems to be working ok. I did notice corrosion pn on group of ecm terminals so that might have been the problem.

Ok I followed the flow chart for testing the ckp in the distributor and all the test points are 357 to 400 ohms and does not test for a short. No continuity. I need to check and make sure there is no open or short in the harness portion, but I suspect the ecm might be damaged due to the flooding. I guess it’s time to go to the pick and pull and get another ecm. My question is. Will any old ecm from another civic with the same engine and so forth work? Between the years 1996-2001.

Also do you have a flow chart to diagnose a ckf sensor? Thanks for the help. I might be getting a big job promotion in a few weeks and will be making more money and I need to make this car last just a little bit longer.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to get out the dvom and check.

It was the ckp code. I do remember that but do not remember the dtc. Sorry. I was too busy arguing with the people at autozone about the warranty of the distributor. I have to buy it because they do not have one in stock. They have to order the part. It cost 222.00 dollars for the part. Bastards. My scan tool got district in the flood or I would do it myself

so i have seen alot of Honda’s with 2.2 and 2.3 engines. My friends say those engines are junk. Your thoughts.

I believe it is the motor it acted up today. Removed the motor and I could tap on it and make it work. Even with the key off the motor still worked that does not seem right to me. I see a 30 amp fuse for the moon roof under the hood is there a relay also? I will go to the pull a part and see if I can find a moon roof motor and switch.

I think it might be the motor. The owners manual says there is place where you can insert a fool to manually open or close the sunroof . But I do not see it
