Update: I got a tune up done on my Ram in late October. Had the throttle body cleaned, IAC Valve cleaned, New TPS Sensor installed, And all new plugs put in. The sad part about the plugs were that they were the originals. Obviously the previous owner/owners didn’t care much for general maintenance. 6 of the 8 coil packs were stuck and took some finessing to get out. One was so bad that half of it snapped off. It took the mechanic around an hour to get the other half out of the cylinder. He had to drill it out to remove it. As for the plugs, they came out without any issue which was a bonus. But as I stated earlier they were the originals and were so finished it wasn’t even funny. The gaps were double of what they should of been. They were suppose to be .40, all of them were anywhere from .70 to .80 over. Anyway, it’s done and my truck runs like a dream now, no Revving whatsoever. 194,350 kilometers later. All I can say is I’m glad that I didn’t tackle that after the hellacious time it gave the mechanic.
Well, I went to the garage today, (Not The Dodge Dealership). And of course my revving barely happened for him. Guess I should of went on the other highway which was bumpier. Anyhow, it did happen but only a few times. But he couldn’t seem to figure out what was causing it, Surprise..!! Anyhow, I’ll take his suggestion though and give my engine a good tune up. Gonna get my plugs replaced, throttle body cleaned, and probably replace the IAC and TPS sensor. He doesn’t think it’s the TPS but I’m gonna change it anyway seeing its a relatively inexpensive part. Going to start with that and see if that cures it. Will keep everyone updated.
@Nathanielearl777, thanks for the reply and suggestion. I’m honestly hoping it’s just a TPS sensor or something. So I’m trying not to think of the worst, (Trans Problem). Anyway, I have my appointment tomorrow at the garage (Not The Dodge Dealership), so I’ll see what they say. I’ll keep everyone updated.
Thanks for the help everyone including you Eric. Though as helpful as those videos were Eric i think I’m going to take your other advice and get it checked by a professional whenever i have the funds. As of right now the car still operates fine and runs like there’s really nothing wrong, well not that i can visually tell or just by listening. But it’s something I’d rather not leave drag on for to long so I’ll keep ya updated when i find out what the problems were. Thanks again.
