Harbor Freight has clicker type torque wrenches that I bought that has been very good to me and also reasonable. Less than Craftsman, not to knock them.

Ok, I opened the relay box and swapped a know good relay, and to my surprise it started right up. So I put the original relay in and what do you know it started right up. Weird

I have a 2003 Cavalier that I just bought from a dealership. They replaced the front brake pads and resurfaced the rotors. After 5000 miles later the I felt the steering wheel shaking before a complete stop. I took it back to the dealership and they said the rotors were warped. They replaced them for free and no more problems. I talked to the person that makes appointments, which he is master certified and said the resurface them to save money. He said they are suppose to replace them instead of resurfacing them. I told him that is why I am here, and he just smiled.

That might be good for rear wheel drive cars, what about front wheel drive cars?

Fixed the coolant fan today at school. I watched a video on how to remove the coolant fan. The guy made it look easy to take out. I definitely was not as easy as it looked. Thanks everyone for the advice. Now I know what to look for when diagnosing the fan. Learn something new every day.

Got bored today and bought some wires with alligator clips and tested the cooling fan. Not being surprised it does not work. I will replace the motor Tuesday at school.

                        Quoted From EricTheCarGuy:

Yes both cooling fans should come on with the AC. I too check for power and ground at the fan connector first as a common failure point would be the fan motor itself and if it’s getting power and ground and it’s still not working then it’s likely the motor is bad. Me I would bust out my Power probe (not trying to cause tool envy) but a simple test light would also show if the connector is getting the power and ground that it needs. An easy check would be to check all the fuses, sometimes cooling fans blow fuses and that’s an easy fix.

I check the relay by swapping a known good relay and did not work. I also looked at the fuse, it is also good. I have am going to school for auto service ad will diagnose it on Tuesday since I have insuffucient tool at home. Will post back when diagnosed.

Oh yeah when the A/C is on the temp goes up, and when driving it stabilizes.

                            Quoted From johnbkobb:

Are the cooling fan(s) in the engine compartment constantly on when the A/C is on? They should be.

The cooling fan is not on when the A/C is running.

They should be on all the time with your a/c on

If the cooling fan is not working, then how does the cooling fan turn on with the A/C running?

                                Quoted From johnbkobb:

The fan not working causes the temp to go up when stopped. When moving there is natural air flow to keep temp down.

What about when at stop the A/C blows hot air, is this in connection with the cooling fan?
