Sadly as reality sets in, it would seem I will have to take apart.

The disc was labeled, barring human error, I set it correct. There is some noise, but not very loud. When I tightened pressure plate, all was tight.

Yes, that’s exactly how I wanted to type the post. Lol. Got lost between my brain and fingers. Wheels spin in air, but once lowered not enough friction.

Yes Old clutch was worn out, flywheel seemed OK but replaced anyway.

Thx for reply, they were the same parts as far as I could tell without taking measurements, pilot tool fit old spline,flywheel and pressure plate visually looked the same, same with slave/throwout bearing. It looks like I may have to disassemble to diagnose properly. Would the linkage on the tranny moving have anything to do with it.
