Sounds like a bad main relay. Pull it and test to make sure

If you disconnect the fuel pressure regulator from the vacuum, and crank it, there shouldn’t be any fuel shooting out the vacuum port. If there is then you have a bad regulator causing fuel to fill the intake with fuel..Doesn’t hurt to check.

Have you played with the adjusting screw ? Don’t, those cars are computer controlled.

I don’t really care about prices much because I kinda know how much stuff is worth, to me. What I don’t like is all these gimmicks stores have us go through just to save a penny. If I can go in and out of a store/autoparts, and get everything I need with no hastle without waiting an hour in line then Im good. And ill keep going there till they screw up then that’s when I take my business elsewhere. The other day my wife, daughter and I were at the mall. I was walking around with my pretzels bites and my drink. Walked into a store and was immediately stopped by an employee telling me I couldn’t with my drink, so I turned around and was happy to go elsewhere. I actually wanted to buy some of their stuff but I guess they don’t need the business.

My friend thought his head gasket was the reason his civic was over heating. He was sure it was and he was ready to shoot his car but when I went over to check it out I told him to turn the car on and while up front not only did I notice some electrical repairs, I also felt that the fan was blowing towards me so that’s when the investigation questions began. He claimed someone had replaced the fan switch and cut the wires. So when they put it back, they installed the wires backwards so pretty much it gave him a sigh of relief when I told him to test drive it after I hooked it up right…

Sea foam to me seams more of a novelty item for car guys more than anything. I usually only do it once, just for show, in the parkinglot of the apartment complex were 8 live. But yeah if your really interested in cleaning the intake then do it right otherwise you’ll pay way more in unnecessary repairs..man this ranchero steak meal from rancheritos is huge!

Ha. You guys are funny. First off, I love how we can chime in on all these car issues. One time, when my durango did the same thing, you know the 02 sensor, and I replaced it. It still read the same code. So finally took it to the dealer. and they told me it had a bad 02 sensor…..ha. so, just putting it out there.that was my experience. Oh the reason why my sensor was bad in the first place its cuz I didn’t disconnect it while dropping the exhaust…..lifes lessons.

Oh yeah. So finally got the car on point. When I checked the psi on the fuel rail and read 15 psi, I couldnt believe it. Even Eric thought it was not right but sure enough that freaking pump was the culprit. I’ll tell you what. I broke the main supply line from the tank to the filter, but immediately went over to my nearest junkyard and I really didn’t think I was going to be lucky enough to find a good one but sure enough got one for only 5 bucks…yay! Oh, the pump was from Napa Auto parts…145.00 bills. Its cool, my hunney is out testing its drivability right now…
What did I learn from this?
1 always understand the rules of engagement.
2 and this Is one I like to tell my friends. Always troubleshoot. Isolate the problem and then, have at it.
Now, when my hunney comes back I know there’s going to be a lil rewarding action goin’ on.

I like erics method of checking it..which is, when its reving up and down, tap the housing with a screwdrivers’ handle. But also if you know the solution then get it done right… 😉

Just a quick update…. my fuel psi is @ 15 & now I’m seeing more empty beer cans on my work bench..ha. its cool though cuz I love working on my car, troubleshooting then stuff goes down with my car. Don’t like to waste money on parts I don’t need right? Thanks to you all that care enough to post.;b p.s. man I wish I could post some stuff straight off my phone. But its cool. Eric rocks!!! Hella…

I also pulled the plugs all good a bit sooty from missing I guess. I replaced cap n cables with my other cars’. When I get off work I’m going to be checking the ignition components.

Finally got a check engine light to come on. It stored a 43 code_fuel supply system. So going to check that out.

Id check the cooling system, and make sure the electrical is at its optimum. My accord would do the same thing . Turned out being the voltage regulator.
