i tried that but then the ball joint on the tie rod would still move around. i put a wrench on the tie rod itself so it wont actually move around and still nothing.

reason i’m restarting this thread is because i’m not totally confident about what the mechanic said since , i can produce this weird sound w. out having to move the car , i just turn the engine on , engage clutch , put it in first for a second then back to neutral , let go of the clutch and here this little click you can hear in the first video . for the first video its better if you wear head or ear phones .

video of my shift linkage .

re starting this thread. got a look at my mounts the front looks fine , rear ok – ish

though both side are needed to be replaced ,

in my post i said that i can hear it between the clutch and gas pedals , just wanted to see if its normal for the axle to have this gap? since its pretty much the only thing between the gas and clutch pedal. sorry i didn’t get a video of me trying to produce that sound i want you guys to hear , was frustrated about me not getting my tie rods off . but maybe next week i’ll investigate further .

i had this code on my sentra ,it said threshold bank 1 , it was the exhaust gasket manifold (front catalytic converter). replaced it code gone , smog passed . i got selected for the star program(CA) . which is total B.S. and has certain limits of smog i can’t go over and can’t have certain codes i can’t have and will not get my tags until the problem is fixed . so yeah gonna have to get a new catalytic converter to get your tags . btw since we live in CA you CANNOT buy a used one , it HAS to be new . unless you find someone that will pass all test aka crooked shop but will charge you lots probably 200$.

EDIT : you can also try to talk to the smog referee and work it out. my dads 05′ corolla was the same visual + emission passed but didn’t pass for some reason but he talked to the referee and they passed him .

Depends what part that bolt is from? I would leave it alone either way

Did you bleed the brakes? Also I believe it can be normal for new brake pads to have some noise , you can Google it. T

Yep pretty normal. I’m assuming when you start it up its cold outside. My car does this as well, usually revs to 2k rpm then as the engine warms up it goes slowly down to 1k rpm

well took it in to get it inspected and the mechanic said it was the motor mounts causing the noise , need to replace all 4 . he stuck it in e brake and replicated the noise … did hard launches to do so though .

oh yeah before i forget , sounded and felt like it’s was being emitted between the clutch pedal and the gas pedal .
