hey people just an update the sound is still there i changed the driver side ball joint , and still i hear this weird squeak . happens mostly now when the car drives over bumps , just like a big rig when it goes over bumps it goes squeak squeak . i didn’t really check for any loose metal while i was down there but everything look tightened down, but what definitely needs replacing is the passenger side ball joint , stabilizer bar endlinks on both sides… Not sure about the bar bushing, didn’t check that.

btw changing the ball joint was a pain in the ass! took 6 hours to do it because no adapters were really usable for my car because the damn clamp was too short , so if it was just 3″ longer i would of had a easier time .

i happened to find a video that makes the same sound as my car.
Does the sound go away with the e brake off?
no , it still jingles , even when the car is in motion the sound still comes in usually around the 2k rpm – 3k rpm , small bumps and speed bumps make the sound also . also still the sound is produced on smooth roads.
I hear something at the 22 second mark. Is that what you are talking about?
yeah , can hear it again around the 50+ second mark .

also , to those of you that know, my normal ball joint didn’t have a grease fitting on it , i bought new ball joints with grease fittings. i can still use it right? when i’m going to put in the ball joint, the grease fitting with be pretty much facing the ground / road , instead of up to the sky.

sorry for the late reply , its a 2001 nissan sentra . last time the brakes were serviced was about 1 and half year to 2 years ago.

also just to get an opinion , my ball joint and stabilizer bar link on both sides will need to be need to be replaced , should i just replace the whole control arm or just the joints and bar links?

the costly route is replacing the whole control arm on both sides, which im trying to avoid, but if you guys thinks i should then i shall .

bump! i replaced the trans mount(couple weeks ago) and passenger mount(today) and there’s still some clink when shifting and during take off although it did lessen when i changed the mounts , stripped 2 sockets while taking off the 14mm bolts on the passenger side third time was the charm. while i was down there , i was hand spinning the tyres and started to hear a clunk sound , one wheel would move first then the other wheel would move idk if that’s normal in a Fwd car. actually took a video of it … in process of being uploaded . the noise is emitting from the axle 🙁 inb4 – imma spend $$$.

lower your volume might be a loud video.

the trans mount was already on its way out , i replaced it today but still having the weird rumbling like a bad wheel bearing . idk i guess i’ll call the alignment shop and see what in the hell they did , i hope they didn’t turn certain screws because i think for my coilovers, one isn’t supposed to mess with the preload and stuff.

but yeah to get back on topic i still have this clinking / clunk feeling and sound when shifting .

Hey people this is pretty urgent so my transmission mount needs to be replaced. I’m going to put in a motor mount bushing tomorrow. I’m currently hearing noises from 0-20 mph. It sounds like a crunch or how a bad wheel bearing sounds and feels. Pretty much a rumble. Its been making a clunk/ clicking sound when I shift for a while btw. Also when the car feels like it wants to stall because I shifted too early. The car doesn’t bogg/shake as hard as it used to. The car still accelerates fine though

Although I have a bad trans mount ,I just did a wheel alignment and as they were doing their thing they were bouncing my car up n down like a low rider , I have coilovers so I guess they wanted to see them in action.

What are the symptoms of a really bad trans mount ? Or did these people break my new wheel bearing that’s only a month old?

since the sentra is FWD there’s really no such thing as a wheel alignment for the rear ( unless you get the solid rear beam bent ), but there is something called torque steer alignment . try not to get confused they call it 4 wheel alignment (does not stand for 4wd)
