      Cars i have owned:

1987 Honda Accord EXi (with a mid-range interior, and base model brakes?)
1996 Honda Civic CX (my accord rotted, big surprise.. got this from a friend. Fun car. No options at all. Couldnt do it, so i got)
1988 Honda Accord EXi (I love it. Gonna make it look like an 87, but keep the awesome add-ons the 88 got in the facelift, like 10hp and 10 torque more..)
1986 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham. (Just got it. I decided i couldnt pass it up, and that i could use a project car to learn about the ancient art of the carburetor.)

Cars i’d like to own… sooo many. I’ll just say that the 3rd gen accord is a surprisingly good little car.. and it’s worth every penny its 25 years of age are forcing me to sink into it.

no word from the guy who made the topic?

As for me, i will stand by my 3rd gen accord till i die.
Double wishbone suspension, the stuff new luxury cars come out with.
Super high quality, very nice, soft, meterial interior with firm, VERY comfortable seats. It also rides freaking awesomely.
Happy, reliable, bulletproof engines. People take them up and above 500 000 miles.
          Pop-up headlights. c’mon.
It has an indicator for burnt out brake lights, doors opened, or trunk lid opened.
If you get the EXi/LXi/SEi, you get a sunroof and sequential fuel injection.

Basically, the quality/price ratio is amazing. 60 000$ gets you the same material quality as the SEi, if you were to buy a bran new car. You can pick up an SEi in mint condition for 4000$.
Oh, and then there is resale value.. you can probabily sell it for more than you buy it.

They are also fun to drive, no blind spots. Super low belt line so you see the road, and all around you. Easy to check the blind spot your mirror dosnt catch. Double-wishbone suspension dosnt only help the ride, but it also allows the car to handle very well, and predictably.

Overall, if you know the 16 year old can respect his first car and keep it for ages, it’s the car i’d get.

As for reliability, incase it’s even in question, i’ve had one for 5 years. Never had an issue. If it gave me a problem, i was always able to get where i needed to go before adressing the issue.

Main issues, would be the altornator, and at this age, itll need some tooling, cos rubber dosnt last for-ever, but it’s all-in-all a very worthy car.

Very nice looking car there sir. I can’t say i know much about the carb, or the automatic, but what do you mean by revving up when changing gears..?
Also, as for the popping noises, check your bushings and balljoints. These cars have an upper balljoint on each side in the rear, the lowers are just bushings.. My balljoint in the rear was popping, and let me tell you, it was very very worn. As for the front, theres an upper and lower on each side.. check your inner upper bushings for the popping, they may be loose..
Otherwise, the links provided will be plenty, but i know a thing or two about those 3rd gen accords, i’ve had one for 5 years..

I love those Chevys! good luck with the project, and i hope to see more progress.
I have an 80s Bbody, but if i could find a 60s impala for a reasonable price i’d love one..
