i was aware that the voltage regulator which is a part of the alternator on this one was causing the overcharging the battery. my question is what causes the repeating alternator failures, and if this is a known problem with this car and if it could be related to my other electrical problems i got with this car. thanks and have a good one.
i checked the alternators voltage before i replaced them. ;they where high, 18.4 v. p.s. that flag that showed at my original posting is gone now. thanks.
put a new coil in,did not make any difference. folks at the part store thought that a bad igniter (ignition control module),could show the same signs of not starting when warm/hot.is there a way to test it?.thanks have a nice day.
:cheer: i am 54 and this is the first forum i been a part off. this is awesome thanks toyota tom! i thought that the coil could be a candidate because i had a sentra that did a similar thing. coil looked visual o. k. , but i will take it out. how can i test it or who will test them?
