actually yes things changed a bit. I did not tighten the exhaust bolts enough unfortunately. When i went under there a few weeks later, they were all pretty loose. I finally got the correct exhaust hangers and because i did not do the clamps tight enough, was able to disassemble the parts.
I then sanded them down to remove the old muffler cement, did a proper nice job aligning and bolting in with correct exhaust hangers and levelled the muffler. Then re coated and tightened the shit out of those clamps!!! still I dont think I tightened them enough, but it is a lot quieter now.
My question for the day: Is it possible to over tighten exhaust clamps? what kinda torque, if i can find the torque wrench, should they be at? i am so mad at them for not staying on! I thought maybe it might crush / warp the catalytic converter pipe.
Other than that everything else seems to only last a few years down there.
Another interesting point which I love is that i was driving around for weeks with loose clamps and besides some noticeable clanging, the car survived. It really goes to show you that you can’t screw up. Just fix and the worst that can happen is you have to fix it again!

a few things… Make sure you do not have some previous mechanics improvised exhaust hangers… do not trust that the part store knows what hangers are for your vehicle and instead go to the wreckers and compare.
i found muffler cement and used that. it works way better because it cures as you drive and you dont have to wait. the system works OK, but it clanks a bit. I think that is because i used some bailing wire as i havent been out to wreckers yet. Also i think that i have a leak around the engine compartment, or at least before the cat, which is still making some noise. im not going to go under again till i get the new hangers. it is like two interlocking springs, fyi. and the muffler one is a hook on a piece of rubber. The dealer manual which i am lucky enough to own, has all the parts described nice, so i know exactly what SHOULD be there…
on the bright side, it seems hard to f up really. even though it moves around somewhat i am pretty sure, it hasnt cracked or fallen apart. I always think car parts are more fragile then they are in the end.
And thanks eric! I do wish i had the resources to have one of those fancy torches. I pretty much just own my car, and not space to work on it. I cut it off with 1) breaker bar 2) dremel 3) PB blaster 4) brute force and 3 hours
