I’ve never tried the RP oil filters, I’ve run the K&N filters on all my trucks for quite a while now (2 of them are the same which I like). Heard alot of good things about the MB1 filters as well. I changed my oil on my 04 4.3 on regular pennzoil high mileage (before I started running syn). At class we were cutting open oil filters so I cut mine open and seen maybe two shinies in the media so I was very relieved since I drive the hell out of it, 3 thousand miles on the oil btw.
I’ll soon be changing my diff oil on my SS to either RP or Amsoil, i haven’t made my mind up. Autozone has the RP in stock, have to order the Amsoil

Only thing I’ve seen seafoam do is foul out plugs if you run it through your vacuum lines, and that is with more than one use, also depending on how dirty your engine is. BTW I filled my new fuel filter on my diesel 6.2 with seafoam and I think it ruined the filter, so I learned my lesson there.

Don’t use any synthetics or it won’t break it properly. Mineral oil lets the rings seat properly, the syn just works too well lol

I see it like this, in aviation they use straight mineral oil, the old timers say its just not worth spending the extra money. I still feel the same way, mostly. The Aeroshell is a good aviation oil but sludges up. Phillips 66 is alot cleaner but isn’t as wear protective. Oil/filter change every 10 hours. 15 or so on synthetic. AD oil is the term..
Anyways, I ran straight pennzoil for 50,000 on my 04 4.3 WT Silverado brand new. At 50 changed to RP and run it until 70 and didn’t like it. Switched to pennzoil high mileage and ran it until about 110 thousand. Then I decided that I wanted to switch over before the miles started creeping up on er, so I switched to pennzoil ultra. The first oil change was just normal really, no oil pressure change, engine sounded normal. At oil change, oil was dirty and only ran 5,000 miles. My engine seemed quiter, that little tick from the lifters/cam seemed eased, at lower rpms, they all do it?
I run Delo 15W-40 in my diesel, its better than the petrolium based Rotella. This is a very good dicussion. Very one has a story to tell lol.
Amsoil has the best name right now, its worth the money, 100 dollars on a oil change on a harley is ridiclous S:-o

I say the borlas. The corsa sound amazing on the V8 LS engine but its a bit much of a 4 cylinder

The thing about the GM coolant is they say its bad for seals, gaskets etc… My 04 Silverado 4.3 hasn’t had a lick of problem with the coolant (with royal purple super coolant in it) and will put it back in if i need to change the coolant for some reason. Its supposed to have some kind of corrosion inhibitor in the coolant and other stuff. But if you’ve used the green stuff and put the red in, thats where the problems start.

If it has a 350, I would say it has the 10 bolt rear end W/ LSD, but I could be wrong.

As a guitar player (bass too) Sabbath is awesome. Jimmy Page is my biggest influence with Iommis dark riffs helping
Newer stuff, Parkway Drive, Chevelle, Mastodon, Emery, Tool.

You might need the anti slip additive, which fluid did you use?? Shouldn’t have anything to do with overdrive though
I got a stainless steel Kobalt box with hydraulic deals on the top lid so it raises, lots of room on top. Got 3 drawers, and the bottom one is bigger for your bigger items. $140 bucks, comes with a cover also. Pretty good for the price and the lower (this is the top) is about $250.

I’d go easy on the oil stabalizer, may change the viscosity, make the oil foam, etc (dk just some thoughts) just run the mobil 1 its a good enough oil to get you 300k. If the van is cable (not electric throttle body) just go to a parts store find some cable lube and quirt a little down the cable shroud deal and maybe inside if you can get to it.

Easy one is to bend the end of a thin flat head screwdriver about quarter ways to adjust the idle on a updraft carb on a opposed aviation engine. Can’t get too close to the spinny thing in the front!
