It’s possible the bearing is faulty or pressed to deep. I had a bearing be faulty from the parts store almost since day one but lived with it until it was time to replace my tires and them I got an oem set of bearings and had the dealer press the bearings into the spindles since I took old bearings out. They charged me 1/4 of the total labor cost since I did ev r u thing else

Also you may want to check the pcm. My 94 ex accord wagon became hard to start and eventually wouldn’t start at all because the computer blew a capacitor

Swapped the backplane and speedo. Odo measures 1.2 miles for every mile traveled based upon mile markers on the highway. Still have the consistant variation where the speedo is some value faster than actual speed though. This is driving me crazy

On the 01 highlander is occurred because the timing belt was off a tooth.

The idler pulley on the AC mount is adjusted via a bolt (12mm I believe). It does not auto tension.
Will try it. I did swap speedo but the backplane was the same. If the speed test remains inconclusive I will try swapping backplanes

Only code on the car is 41 for an O2 sensor.

Was the crank position sensor recall performed on this vehicle?

Gps is within .5 to 1mph difference from 01 highlander.

I would have no arguement up to 5mph. It’s currently 9mph difference at 51 miles with the speedo and odo moving faster than my gps. 6 miles difference faster @ 35

Rims are stock. No vss code. Just an O2 sensor code. Several transmission codes bur none indicating vss. Replaced speedo already in car (which was just as off) with another 94. Will check gps accuracy shortly with eife’s highlander

The VTEC head will work, but you need to make sure there are the correct oil ports opened up on the short block. Somethings just do not slap together well.
If he wants something with basic bidirectional capabilities, a mt2500 with proper cable and catridge will give him most of the limited systems available
