It actually involves having a chipped ecu with a sX00 interface functionality or someone who can burn specific flash chips on the fly. Hence finding a tuner shop with someone who specializes in this.

This isn’t something you download off the internet. I recommend looking for a shop that specializes in import tuning or has a dynometer and has a tuning specialist on staff to point you in the right direction. An improperly tuned engine can ruin it, especially for someone with no idea what they have

Yep. Now have a different problem of a p0505, which wasn’t present the first time I got things reassembled but had the monster oil leak

Turned out to be the rear valve cover leaking oil horribly. I did an oil change before buttoning everything up and the color of fresh oil on the ground confused me with the red coolant that spilt when I removed the intake plenum

Replaced gaskets, brand new bypass hose. New knock sensors and harness.

Recommend a 97-01 camry. Plenty of them. All obd 2 usual problems with them are the plastic door handles breaking both interior and exterior and crummy engine connectors. Don’t get a v6 because they are a royal pita.

F22b2 is not a vtec motor in its original form. Do you have the right ecu. Do you have any codes not illuminating the cel.

I had a faulty speed sensor in my 94 ex. My fuel economy did go down ad mentioned however there was no change in engine behavior. All that happened was the transmission had to guess where to shift and that seemed to be whenever the engine seemed to hit about 2500 or so and that the tcc never really locked

If you’re on a budget also check pawn shops and cl for closing business. The civic is going to be mostly metric but if you progress to other cars or small engines then the sae will be your friend. If you have harbor freight try and get their pro tools. Still crummy but better to start with until you graduate to extra money 🙂

Or if you have an android phone there are a variety of maintenance record apps out there. If you have an apple or something just as nonexciting I’m sure there are some for you too

                            1. Air tools are beneficial, but not necessary if you have a good long breaker bar to remove the axle nuts.
                            2. Expensive no, but a torque wrench yes, you will need to make sure things like the flywheel and clutch cover are appropiately torqued to spec.
                            3. You will either need the existing flywheel machined or purchase new. When I did my civic I had it simply machined, however the cost was just below the price of a new one, so YMMV. Some folks don’t do anything with the flywheel, so make the choice at your discresion.
                            4. Exedy is fine. OEM is fine, it all depends on your pocket book. Most clutch kits do not include flywheel. Just a bearing, alignment tool, plate and cover
                            5. 3 or 4 days should be fine to get things done if you need to run for parts and the what not in the event something goes wrong.
                            6. Does the slave need replacing? If its not faulty, do you need to add more things to trouble shoot?

It would but what I have is the lower pic on this one and I don’t seem to have 7/24

Yeah I know. I’m hunting for some low profile offset screwdrivers since there is no screw in the access hole
