How about the transmission range sensor?

the problem only occurs when it gets past third gear for the first time. usually after its been sitting all night, the next morning it shifts decent even up past 40 mph, it doesn’t lose power but it doesn’t go into fourth gear. but when it shifts past third gear for the first time it loses power again.

wouldn’t that make the performance issue go through all the gears, and not just third and fourth?

Well it’s definitely not the exhaust it took the cat out and it still does it. So whatever it is it’s electrical. It feels like it’s getting too much gas and kind of flooding. So I am assuming that it’s being electronically controlled somehow. But I don’t know for sure that’s why I’m on here haha

yeah the shifts are nice as they should be. the response is that there is barely any response. when i push the pedal in slowly theres barely any rpm change except when it engages into overdrive. theres about a 1-2″ play with not very much response. the rpm gauge drops when it happens. it sounds like it shifts up and the rpms change but theres only four gears to go through so that can’t be it. other than that i just need new tires but that shouldn’t affect that.
