I don’t know what the difference is. I just need a divice that can tell me why the engine light in on and what is causing it. I think a scanner does that but can you explain me what the difference is? thank you

Hey people. I need some advice about scanners. I saw Eric’s video about the use of a scanner and he used an Actron device. I would like to buy a scanner that can be use for American cars and also Asian cars like Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Hyunday, Honda etc. Both old and new models. It would be my first scanner and I don’t know what to buy. What do you reconmend? Actrons? What specific model? Thank you
