I placed a completely new set of rims/tires and the sound unfortunately persisted. Also, can wheel bearings go bad that fast just after 10k miles? There doesn’t seem to be any vibration at all like a typical wheel bearing. As for the diff fluid, I drained and refilled it with the recommended viscosity and the sounds persisted. Can a bad differential/pinion gear still make that humming noise when in neutral/coasting? The sound is only affected by the speed at which i’m traveling.
Here is what i’ll probably do next —
-Change the rear differential
-Change the rear wheel bearings
