That’s the second option. Diode needs to be parallel to relay coil to protect ECM from inductive spike that relay will cause.
First you connect diode like http://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/user/Relay_with_diode_across_coil.png and then connect LCM headlight wire –> (ping 86) Relay control (ping 85) –> ground
is the diode part of the relay??

i did check everything before i got to this conclusion.. thanks

thanks for the info, what i am planning to do is actually is connecting a relay in place of the working headlight to power both headlights.. but i need to ask about the following
why should i have a diode?? if i use the working light to activate the control of the relay to power the lights from the battery then there should be no power going back to the lcm
LCM headlight wire –> (diode) –> (ping 86) Relay control (ping 85) –> ground
is that correct?
would there be a problem if the LCM goes to the ground as the above?

Hey Eric,
i am in the business of flippin cars.. been doing it for some time and the way i do it is i buy the cars and do the work on them as well.. as i do have good negotiation skills which is everything in this business.. i do make calls from time to time to some of my friends or relatives who are old in the business as well and they know the market prices better than i do…
for the TV shows like Wheeler dealers.. i do love that show and i saw every episode of it.. and to tell you the truth it was what got me inspired in both mechanical work and flippin cars.. i know the show isnt real.. as the people who sell the cars to mike and the people who buy them from him are all staged and the cars are owned by the tv show… but its still fun to watch.
fast n loud… love watching it as i am a big fan of classic cars..
i have been thinking of doing my youtube version of wheeler dealers where i buy a car then show the work thats done then try to sell it off.. but that wont be easy..
great subject..

Just tested fuel pressure and got 40PSI which in the operating range

the pump is working, as i verified by both hearing it run when i turn the key to the on position.. and by pressing on the pressure relief valve.. but i dont know if its providing the right pressure.. but if its not providing enough pressure i believe the engine should fire up and maybe fail when load is applied..
i do expect that i do have a harness problem which is shorting out the injectors and preventing them from working..
tests will verify it all
