Its coming from the motor for sure it does it at idle It sounds to me like a valve tick. I dont believe it is an exhaust leak I know those tick as well but it sounds like its coming throw the valve cover. He just told me that he had to add a few quarts of oil to it after the tick started but it didnt go away.
Thank you

I would try to adjust the power steering gear box and see if it needs tightening or you might need a new one completely.

This is kinda a shot in the dark but I would check compression I remember hearing that the piston rings in the old ranger engines would wear out and allow to much blow by causeing loss in power.

PVC valves clog all the time and is a big cause of burning oil but I don’t know about it with such low miles being put on it for it to be able to burn that much oil that fast. I also would not add any thicker oil then what the manual recommends.

When drilling it out make sure and use plenty of lubrication and take you time. Also make sure you drill it out level you don’t want to come out the side and drill into your rim if you damage the cone that the lug nut seats into the rim is no good and it sucks to drill half way through and realize its crooked and you have to find a way to straighten it out. But other then that its not to bad.
Good luck

This my sound crazy but I have gotten a stuck lug nut off by drilling out the stud and replacing it. You have to be carefull not to drill into your rim but I have done it so it is doable.

I had the same problem with a 92 grand prix. It ended up being a crank shaft sensor.
