I use my 3/8″ impact wrench more than my 1/2″ to be honest with you. I’ll take a transmission out of a 4×4 truck with only my 3/8″. Buy a good one like Matco or IR. They have nearly 400lb ft or torque.
I agree. I pulled plenty of transmissions with my 3/8″ and I used it 10x more than my 1/2″. Aircat is also a really good brand though. I have both 38″ & 1/2″ aircats and my 3/8″ has more power than my buddies old 1/2″ IR lol. And I only paid a little over $100 for mine brand new.
Although, I use my 1/2″ cordless a lot more lately. Depending on what I’m doing.
I use my 3/8″ impact wrench more than my 1/2″ to be honest with you. To be honest, I’m not much a fan of craftsman tools by any means, but I do like their cordless C3 series tools. I have 3 of the batteries and I have the 1/2″ impact, reciprocating saw, 1/2″ drill, 3/8″ right angle drill, and 4 1/2″ angle grinder. I haven’t had any problems with any of them (apart from the angle grinder draining the batteries in about 10 minutes of use. which is to be expected). and I haven’t had any issues with any of them *knock on wood*.
The impact has enough torque for most of my needs and is quicker than dragging around the air hose. but if the cordless doesn’t break it loose, then I get out my 1/2″ Aircat lol.To be honest, I’m not much a fan of craftsman tools by any means, but I do like their cordless C3 series tools. My name is Darren. I’m 26 years old and I live in Michigan. I have A1, A2, A3, A4, A5,& A6 ASE certs. I’ll be doing 7 & 8 this summer. I have an Associates Degree in Automotive Service Technology and I’m working on my Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
I have experience with a little bit of everything. GM and Ford, to Honda, Subaru, old air cooled VW’s and a lot of stuff in between.
I used to work for a shop that specialized in Powerstrokes, so I am intimately familiar with the problem child 6.0 diesel. So if anyone has any questions about them, feel free to ask and I’ll do what I can to help.Hi. My name is Darren. I’m 26 years old and I live in Michigan. I have A1, A2, A3, A4, A5,& A6 ASE certs.
