Thanks. I’ll see if I can get a shop to check it.
I haven’t changed my IAC on the 94 3.9L v6 yet but I have the new part (Standard brand) and in the box instructions say I should measure how far the pintle on the one I am removing sticks out from mating surface to the tip. There is a procedure if the new one sticks out more to shorten it. It says there could be damage to the inside of the TB if you insert it without doing this.
The relearn process is essentially driving at 40MPH at normal running temp for a bit to cause the pintle to fully extend and mate with the inner surface thus giving the PCM a set point to work form.I’m thinking the procedure would be very similar and yours should have had instructions with it.

Wow Thank you for engaging like this.
Honestly I don’t know because I bought it in September2013 and had the oil done in October/Novemberish and do not remember if I looked at the stick after they filled it or that I noticed anything off since. Just now the oil is halfway up the ‘safe’ zone cold. There is no timing procedure for the 94 3.9L V6. Is there some way without taking it all apart to find out if the timing chain fix of adding a tensioner has been done?

I suggest you try German Auto Salvage Inc., 4th Street, Berkeley ca. I’ve never seen anything they can’t get. Including German made parts for less than dealer, well that was over 10 tears ago but I don’t see why it would have changed.

I will check the timing, as the page said it never occurred to me since it was staring and running. I was thinking after surfing the web that it may be the chain tensioner issue and on ETCG I found a known problem page for the intake Plenum issue.http://www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/common-problems-pattern-failures/50534-94-02-chrysler-3-9-5-2-5-9-engines-intake-gasket
I’ll check timing first then I’ll have to check if those other two fixes have been done.
Any suggestions for checking that out without taking the motor apart?I will check the timing, as the page said it never occurred to me since it was staring and running.
