yea the alt came out of a 03 sequoia with a 3.0 ltr v6, i bought it because i saw it was motorcraft and i was going to just swap the voltage regulators hoping that would fix my problem, but once i had them off and next to each other i had one of those “how about that” moments. but yea an 8 year gap in alt manufacturing also
na it wasnt hard to spin, i think it had a small piece of wire get in it from other repairs and short it out, but who knows.
ill take another video here in a min when i leave of my scan gauge 2 volt reading and post itit was the alternator i made a video how i fixed it you guys wont believe it.
thx ill give this a shot tomorrow
Got the block on an engine stand tore apart it was 1 broken piston rod and 1 bent ,the sleeves unharmed so I’ll reuse those Pistons replace the rods and put it back together
thx for the replys i was having a bad day, I’ve since found a new h22a block with some extras pretty cheap about 80 bucks and the sleeves seem to be in good condition also i got 2 sets of pistons and rods with that deal so I’m going to try and swap out just the one piston and rod or just the rod. my question now is should i pull the engine to pull the crankshaft or do it under the car its gonna be work either way, is all the extra work of pulling the engine worth it?
with oil pan off cylinder 1 connecting rod is broken how ever the rod did little to no dmg that i can tell took that out tried to hand turn over crank only to be stopped by cylinder 2 and 3 connecting rods where they bolt to the crank I’m guessing the crank is bent.
so with that being said the 1 million dollar question is……………. which is cheaper new engine or repair this one if i had a gun i would shoot the shit out of my car… nothing but head aches a currency black hole or money pitlist of things i checked when i had my prelude idle issues
o2 sensor
throttle cable
throttle position sensor
egr valve clean the shit out of it and the runners for it
i replaced all my vacuum lines
trust me even with carb cleaner they can hide
pcv valve , grommet, and connection to the manifold
and if you went with the h22 i believe the idle is suppose to be a hair lower than you stated 650 maybe i haven’t read it in a long time but I’m pretty sure
the butterfly for the throttle body
thats all i can think of for the moment
oh your gonna need the service manualhttp://www.superhonda.com/forum/f146/prelude-service-manual-online-303151/
free to dl thereThanks for the response Eric the video that i said was the first week after i got the swap the volume is working turn your speakers up really high you can hear the birds in the back ground thats why i said to watch the power steering pump pulley to see that its actually running. if still no volume then idk but the car was super quite, oh and btw did my first valve lash adjustments today on my h22 i used a 10mm one side 12mm other side wrench with the bendable heads because lack of special tool and worked just fine brought the noise down considerably only prob i ran into was the pcv valve spiting in half so i had to quick fix and plug that vacuum so i could go to work.

well just came across one of eric’s honda valve adjustment videos but in this one he starts the car sounds worse than mine but he says it sounds good.
with the lack of comments on this i assume you have no ideas or answers…….well just came across one of eric’s honda valve adjustment videos but in this one he starts the car sounds worse than mine but he says it sounds good.
