Im with eric, I believe its just worn out! When you get that much more compression from dry to wet, its bc the oil is making the seal that the worn out rings, and cylenders cant make on their own.

This is a very active forum! May not get your answer within the first 5 mins of asking, but within the span of an hour or two, you will have somewhere to start!

I did not mean to aim that directly at you, so sorry if it looked that way! But here lately every one is getting all pissy on here! Its a forum for asking and answering legit questions and concerns…and typically its going to be an entry level guy asking a more experienced person the question, and they feel that they can just talk down…idk just seems like they should not be on a car forum if they didnt want to be asked car questions all the time…every one had to learn! Noone came out of their mom, with 5-10 years of experience ya know.

Its crazy! Ive been trying to get into shops here in tn, and they all want like 8-10 years experience! One shop wanted me to check a car out, and replace the head gasked as a test, so i did, and beat the time by 15 mins, and he never contacted me after that!…its bs, they all want someone with experience, but noone is willing to take us entry level guys in and help us.

Get the car on some jack stands, or even better some ramps, to get some more leverage…I absolutely hate it when someone gets on here with some legit questions, and get treated like crap and talked down to. If it was such an easy thing to do i dont think the guy would be here trying to get help!

Make sure you are using the correct size socket that fits snug too, to make sure you dont strip it!

I had a 04 mustang with the 3.8l, and it had the same issue when i got it! Ended up being a bad coil pack, and a plug wire…it would run good at idle, and once you try to take off it would miss.
