Is the Ck engine light on ? Check for codes,The oil being a little over full is not the problem. Also check the TV cable,it could be bad,or out of adjustment.

I would take it apart and sell the aluminium case halfs,the valve body is also aluminium to a local metal recycle place,Most metal recycle places will buy the rest of the trans drums,shafts,gears etc.as scrap iron

Is the ck engine light on ? Is it low on oil ? Any leaks? If it slips on take off its usually a sign of low oil.I think that transmission is a 4T60E ,Hard shifting most likly is a internal Trans problem ,There is no cable adjustment or modulator.

Is the ck engine light on ? It could be the transmission,The lock up clutch in the torque converter is not releasing ,staying applied .When you apply the brakes the lock up clutch in the torque converter should release.When you come to a stop what may be happening is the lock up clutch is on ,then the car feels like its gonna stall ,at that moment the lock up clutch is released and idle back to normal.
