Haha that’s the color of my dash lights. Low fuel, seatbelt, the odometer, the check engine light was on but I just fixed that. Anyway, the problem was indeed the new pump. I replaced it because it was still under warranty and now it’s ok.

Thank you guys for your help! It was the starter. I checked the connection from the battery to the starter directly and it was reading at 10. Only for a second though. But power was getting to the starter. I tested the grounding it was also good. So I decided to change the starter and now my car starts better than ever. Thanks again for all the info!

I took it to a mechanic and they said the neutral safety switch had gone out but after replacing that they said the starter was also bad and that the test didn’t have a load on it so didn’t accurately portray the capabilities of the starter. So I’m going to replace it today and see what happens.

I just did a load test like in the video and it shows almost no draw at all. It’s almost as though they are not connected. It would click but show no change in the voltage. One time it attempted to turn over and it dropped to 10.11. But that only lasted for a second. :/

Here is a video of the sound. As you can see, this is a new pump but its still whining. Let me know what you guys think. I’m taking it to a mechanic to see what they say.

Sure, when I get home. I checked the rack and pinion and it’s not leaking anywhere. But I don’t know what the symptoms of a bad one are.

So I changed the pump and It didn’t fix anything. I bled the system but it still whines. I don’t know what to do next. I guess I’ll take it to a mechanic unless someone else has a something to check. I also replaced the seals again because the pump came with new ones. I’m very confused.

I just finished changing the seals at the hoses and it didn’t change anything. The whining is getting louder and the steering stiffer. I don’t know what else to do besides change the pump.

Well o called the acura dealership to see if I could get the seals that I need and he said they do not sell them because they are an ‘inactive part’. I don’t know what that means but I can’t purchase that from them but I found them online. And they said that the filters are aftermarket add-ons and not stock with the car. I guess I’ll order the seal and replace it and see if that helps anything.

I think I will replace the seals today if I can get some, and see what happens. The belt is tight and not slipping. I watched it run for half an hour yesterday to make sure. There was no squealing like from a loose belt and I never saw any slippage. And I checked all the bold last night just to be sure and everything was fine. It’s whining now and its about 30 out. I’m waiting for it to warm up so I can drive it to work.

I just drove it to work and everything was fine until I made a sharper turn at my exit off the interstate, the pump started whining and my steering became very difficult. I continued driving and it was fine again. Then I pulled into the parking lot and it was ok until I made a 90 degree turn to park, I could hardly steer at all and the pump was really loud. How can you tell if the pump is going out?

I was driving it today while it was 50 out and it was fine until I turned into a parking lot and it became very hard to steer. So I decided to look at the fluid while the car was on so I took a turkey baster and sucked up some of the fluid. It was all foamy and filled with bubbles. I also noticed that it was also over filled by about 1/2 an inch. Could that cause a problem?

Yes the belt is tight and the air is out of the system. When I replaced it, it made the steering alot easier. The reason for replacing it was the same problem, I tried to go to work but I couldn’t steer. I read online that it was probably bad fluid. We’ll I go home and started it back up and it was fine. The next morning the same thing happened. So last weekend I changed the fluid and everything was fine. Of couse it hasn’t been below freezing since I changed it out until today. It was 25 out when I started it and after 30 mins it was working again.

Ah that’s good to hear, I figured but none of the test would confirm that it was the strut. And I didn’t want to buy new ones and it not be the problem. I’ve tried using a pry bar to locate any rattles or loose bushings but everything feels good. After that I took it to a mechanic to see if they could find anything. They said loose bolts and tightened them up but it didn’t fix anything. So tomorrow I’m going to try hitting the tire with a hammer to simulate a pot hole. Though it doesn’t take much to make the sound. It happens on almost any bump.

The car has 140,000 miles on it but I just recently bought the car so i dont know if they’ve ever been replaced. It did have lowering springs on it when I bought it but I just took them off because they made the car ride terribly rough. When I was replacing the springs with the originals, I noticed that the strut on that side was a bit easier to press in than the other side. I also changed our the ball joint and the tie rod end within the past weeks. Every time I hit a bump it makes the noise. If I take the strut off, how should it react if I put pressure on it?

So I just changed my motor mount and it didn’t fix the clunking sound. I checked all my parts and everything feels tight. The only thing I could think of are the struts but I tried to push down and it recoils just fine. I took it to a mechanic and they said it was loose bolts so I had them tighten them and it still didn’t fix anything. I’m very confused. Any help would be great!
