one thing is for certain auto zone has excellent customer service. for example last Friday i bought a bottle Lucas power steering fluid from auto zone. the lid broke. i dont how but it was one of those lids that you have to push down and then twist to open, but no matter how hard I tried the bottle wouldn’t open so i went back to auto zone and reluctantly asked them for help and they couldn’t even open it. so they just went over and grabbed another bottle off the shelve and gave me a new without out charging me again since the first one was full.
Another example of great customer service was from a couple of months ago. i went into AZ to get a a Feul line removal tool because i couldn’t remove my feul filter off of the line. so i went in and explained them my problem so they took me over to the tools and showed me what they had but as i was looking at them i could tell they were not going to work. so when i told him rather than argue with as whether they would or wouldn’t all he said is let me see. so we went outside and he crawled under my car and looked at the piece. he agreed that the normal removal tool was not going to work so out in the parking lot i relived fuel pressure and we both sat out there for 15 – 20 minutes working on removing the fitting. he finally was able to do it with a pocket knife and without damaging the fitting. not very many are willing to go outside and spend 20 min removing a filter and getting covered in gasoline when they dont have to.
They do sometimes over charge on fluids like oil, but they have the best customer service i have seen. those are only two examples but i have always had good experiences when i go into there. the only bad experience i have had at AZ was when i ordered a valve cover gasket. when i went in they gave me the gasket and when i pointed out that was the wrong brand and that it was twice the size. they just went and looked in the back and realized they just grabbed the wrong one and corrected it right then and there. so even then they had good customer service.
So ive decided im willing to pay an extra couple of bucks to deal with auto zone rather than go to a place like Walmart . when i can afford it

the Auto zone in my city makes you pretty much buy the kit then they give the money back to when you return it. so if the kit is $100 then you have to give them $100 to take the kit. then once you return it they give you all of your money back. idk if that’s how it is everywhere so u might just want to call around and hopefully they only ask for deposit. other than that idk of a procedure that removes ball joints with out the kits. have you tried looking around YouTube for a how to video?
when adding sea foam to your oil do u have to change oil or can you drive with it. and if do have to change oil do u let the engine idle for a couple of minutes. i just bought a quart of motor flush from AZ to use for my next oil change and i know the procedure for it is to add when engine is cold and then let idle for 5 minutes but do not drive. then shut it down and do a normal oil change. is sea foam similar?
Everyone has made good points. i one for one will still shop at AZ for repair parts. but go to Wal-Mart for other things. But that

Mine was a 1992 Chevy Beretta. 4 cylinder 2.2 Ltr OHV automatic transmission. I got it when I was 16. I had to sell because of the piston rings. It was a 70,000 mile throw away car. But I made it to 130,000 before I got fed up with dropping my whole paycheck into it every month to keep it running. Plus I didn
Both of you make great points but I for one mostly agree with djdevon. I do have Facebook and participate through there but I think that those type of things should be done through the forums. i know not everyone or even half of Eric
It comes down to cost if you can afford the commute and the tools then I would say do it. Because you will be making more money and get more experience in European cars by taking the job. you could try asking for more money. but down where I live 19/hr is a pretty good wage especially in this economy but our minimum wage is only 7.30/hr. but I have no idea how much a technician at a dealership like that is supposed to make. You also have to think about whether you
I should have worded that differently especially the title lol. I didn

my guess would be vacum. i had a very similar problem with my 92 beretta. as i was driving the vibrations from the engine would cause the vacum lines to become loose and leak due to the fact that they were rotten. and my car would run like shit. so i would have to pop the hood and mess around with the lines until it would regain vacum and run right. . this went on for about 2 weeks until replaced most of the vacum line. 1.25 a foot at auto zone. i didnt have a probelm again until my rings failed. which was typical with berettas as they are known as 70,000 mile throw away cars. once you break 70,000 nothing but problems. you fix one thing and soon after somethoing else breaks. right now i have a 97 cavalier and the only problems ive had so far are is it not wanting to start when its cold outsode around 30 F and suspension. but the vacum lines are just thought. it wouldnt be a bad idea to check them out especially the lines right behind the intake which were the ones i had a problem with. and for the flooding +1 to the regulator. i would also recommend checking your plugs as one might not be firing. does you car smoke? and if yes, what color?
Eric, your doing just fine. just keep doing what you have been doing. youve been very dedicated and work very hard. and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. i have great respect for you and what you do. your always there to lend a helping hand when someone needs it. theres not very many people out there like that. so Thank you.
And as far as moving the FATR i think you should do what you want. and that goes for everything related to Ericthecarguy. i like how you listen to fans when it comes to making changes, but dont make the change if you dont like it. this is your show and your deal. you need to do what makes you happy.
Ignore the haters. becasue haters are gonna hate. youll never be able to please everyone. so dont try all your going to do is wear yourself out trying. especially with the haters if u try to please them than all there going to do is find something else to complain about so your best bet is to just ignore them and try not to let them get to u. and if that gets hard, then just block em. and just remember no matter how many haters there are youll always have twice as many fans that respect you.
So once again, Thank You
Ok new update. i took to the car by the shop to get a professional opinion and they said my clunking and popping sounds from driving was caused by the wheel bearing. so my question is wheter or not all the problems listed above could actually be caused from bearings. the mechanic only looked at my car for 2 min said it was front bearings and then walked away. but that doesn’t explain the excesseve movement in the innner tie rods, or does it? he said the tie rods looked fine. im going to be doing the repair myself. ive already priced out new wheel hub assemblies for both sides at $146 total. i just want to make sure im replacing the right parts. thanks in advance for any advice
hmm, i might just have to go renew my costco membership and go look at some tools. and i did forget to mention that the great neck set did also come with spark plug sockets
