i moved this to service and repair questions answered here, people here may be able to better help you.
as far as my input is concerned Evil-i has brought some valid points up.
i just gave it a shot and i am having no issues, will still bring it to admins attention.
ill bring this to the administrators attention.
well here is my opinion eric.
Most of the traffic laws such as speed limits I think in the city are reasonable, because the human body can only react so fast to an emergency, so the speed limits are very reasonable. some kid runs across the street in front of me, i want to stop the car instantly, and i can feel it, if i go any faster than the speed limit through most parts of town, i wouldn’t be able to stop the car fast enough, and then i would probably kill that kid, and his parents would be damaged for the rest of their lives, and i would have to live with that guilt.
On the other hand, the country back roads…. i think sometimes the speed limits could defenetly be faster! when their are nothing but corn fields for miles and miles… and the speed limit is only 55… that was speed limits set back when cars had drum brakes, tires half as wide, and weighed twice as much, some had no power brakes, and didn’t have near the safety features they do today! and no one goes 55 anymore, its always 60 and the police don’t give a crap, and on the freeways as said before, everyone is already going 90MPH at times, go the speed limit and you can get pulled over. The issue we now have is some people again are just stupid drivers, can’t drive a car to save there life, texting and driving for example, see people do it all the time, wish people would stop, because all it takes is that split second when you aren’t looking on your phone and something happens and you’re dead.
Packard under license built improved copies of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine for the P-51 Mustangs, they made so many in fact they saw some service in spitfires. This is the biggest reason i know about Packard, and it would be interesting to still see them working today, but of coarse as the big three got bigger and bigger, the rest of the automobile companies got crushed… now the automobile industry is essentially a monopoly.
sounds like AC Compressor replacement may be in order… typically when a AC Compressor is about to go they make some pretty bad noises.
could be a oil seal going out on the turbocharger, but to be honest i have limited experience working on turbocharged cars, but when a turbo goes on them and starts sending oil into the engine they make a lot… of smoke.
Do you have a engine light on or something of that nature? any codes extracted?
also have a look at these

the bleeding procedures on these cars aren’t so bad, i would trust the standard bleeding procedure over this to be honest.

Am i a safe driver? i guess that depends on the persons opinion.
As far as city driving is concerned I suck, there have been a couple of times i have almost been in accidents because i don’t drive in the city much and all the hustle and bustle confuses me. It seems everyone in the city just turns their situational awareness off and just does as they do, while i want to know everything that is going on at once, and in the city that is a lot to process, so i get myself in trouble sometimes, but i have never been in a accident that has been my fault.
the second thing is i am a lead foot, but typically in town or when there are people around i find i am a more conservative driver out of all my friends, i stop earlier for the most part anyway, but as far as my driving on my favorite country back roads are concerned i guess you could say i am an animal of a different kind at that point, i like to test the corners when the roads are dry, late braking, ill take the turns hard… and there have been a few times i have had the car up to speed on those old back roads that i know really well where no one ever is.
also on the freeway i just match the speed of the fastest car, 80-85MPH is typical in that case, but here in Michigan especually in the detroit area that is common traveling speed, especially in the Detroit area where you can be pulled over for going the speed limit, and everyone is bumper to bumper at 90MPH
try putting a center punch right on the center of the head of the bolt and with a good ballpean hammer give it a good couple of firm taps, may help break it loose, also try some rust break loose spray like WD-40
resting voltage should be around 12.6 V give or take .2 for a good fully charged battery
voltage should not drop during starting below 9.6V with a fully charged battery
voltage should also be about 13.5 to 14.5 with engine running, if the values exceed or are less than that you may be having alternator or alternator regulator issues.
DOOR LOCK ISSUE FOUND!
so i have found out that on the Grand Prix of my vintage there is also issues with the door locks with the kea fob or buttons, they stop working and you have to lock and unlock your doors manually, seems the most common issue is the computer system that tells them to close and open.
not all OBD1 code readers are the same to my knowledge… i have also moved this to tool talk.
I have moved this to tool talk and i can give you some input.
As always a good set of 1/2 3/8 and 1/4 inch drive sockets and wratchets of both metric and standard kind are a necessity, and good tools can go a long way in this reguard.
Wrenches open and boxed end as well as line wrenches of good quality and different lengths and fitnesses for more leverage or more room are a must.
a good jack with good solid stands and wheel chucks is a good idea.
torque wrenches, inch pounds and foot pounds.
pliers, needle nose, lock jaw, side cutters, adjustable jaw, you name it… they are your best friend.
oil filter wrenches.
screw drivers of assorted kinds, sizes and lengths,
pry bars of different kinds for more room or more leverage.
breaker bars for that pesky bolt that won’t come loose and a good set of impact sockets to go with it, never use standard sockets with a breaker bar unless you want busted knuckles and broken sockets.
a scan tool for reading codes.
then you have some of your misclilanious such as scrapers, sand papers of different grits, carb and break cleaner, WD 40 or RTV or liquid wrench sprays to break loose rusty bolts.
a good drill that you can drill out any broken bolts with a good center punch to punch a center punch to keep that drill bit centered
a good set of hammers can save the day, rubber mallet, dead blow, and good old ball pean
If you have access to compressed air…
Impact wrenches with sockets
Blow guns
If you aren’t afraid of playing with fire and have common sense enough not to burn down your house
Propane torch
a nice big torch
a welder
A FIRE EXTIGUISHER
wet rags
Hope this helps, this is just some of my input.
