I’m going to keep it an automatic. This isn’t the last car that I’ll own or use in a video, and at some point I’ll get a manual. For me a manual just wouldn’t work for this car. I’ve thought about it, I really have, but I just do see it. Nothing wrong with a well built automatic.
After watching your “torque converters explained” video and hearing about those old style torque converters that have the stator’s fins that could change their angle thus multiplying even more the torque, I’m wondering about putting one of these torque converters on your Oliver to give it even more “oomph”
Just an idea, I don’t even know if these torque converters are built or even compatible with a ford transmission.I was hoping that a ‘corporate’ sponsor might step in. I feel weird about taking money from fans of the show. I don’t have any issues with mentioning a brand during a video if they’re willing to send me go fast parts for the car. If it gets to a point where I really need money I’ll think about it, but for now I’m just happy to drive the car. I really enjoy it.
Thanks for your input.
On my behalf, please accept my apologies if I made you feel uncomfortable with my offers π
If one day you put up a donation button for the mods on the car, I’ll still be there offering my little part.
Cheers! :cheer:Live long and prosper (and stay dirty!)

Hello π
I don’t personally know the brand, however I know they are made in the far east. π
And as a matter of fact, on Ebay I’ve purchased various tools from another far-east maker (even though it’s name suggests a german origin), and that brand is KS-Tools.I’ve purchased an entire set of 1/2″ deep drive impact bits together with a u-joint and an extension, and found these to be very sturdy and well made.
If I had to purchase again, I’d have no hesitation and buy more from that brand.Hope this helped! π
a good tool to desolder components is the sc-7000 . its got a built in vacuum pump to lift the solder, available in the USA
I have it! :cheer:
We got that where I work to repair a bunch of pc motherboards that all had the blown capacitors; and every single one repaired was a success, thanks to that desolder tool that was very very helpful to suck away the solder from the tiny holes in the mainboards.
Nice suggestion! π

Hello Nicholas!
Interesting topic about the name.
I was a little taken off guard about the name, to the point I was not sure I understood it correctly πBut….what about Olivia? π
Reminds me of Olivia Dunham from the Fringe tv show, and also of course of Popeye’s girlfriend π
However, if I was a car, whatever gender (he/she/it), I’d just be flattered and honored to be Eric’s car! :woohoo:
I’m sure this was a bit unexpected but I think it will work out well. What are your thoughts?
What can I say?
Great choice, both eastethically, strategically, affectively π
She’s in great shape, I’m amazed you found her out of the whole bunch of oldies.Great camera angles you got for the drivearound, how many cameras do you have now???? :woohoo:
I really hope that before upgrading her to a sleeper you’ll take the time to service her, to show all of us the intricacies of a fully “analog” π car
HER CARB!
I want to see it naked! You showed so much of her and still the air filter (the underwear π ) wasn’t removed….I can’t see the time when you do look into that carb! :cheer:And what about your expression while driving?
Almost identical to that loving one when you last drove your Galaxie, AWESOME!You seem to have turned younger again, really!
Great video all in all!
P.S: you have a message in your biz mailbox, HINT HINT! π
Have a good afternoon and evening
Still, the guys and girls that do it for a living do it much better than I do. I’ve gotten better though. I think you’ll see in the Element fog light video that I plan to put out at some point. What’s helped a great deal is using flux on the wires before heating. I got that tip from a viewer also. It works very well. Perhaps I should consider an update video.
Yeah, the “flux trick” works for me too, and I’m totally hopeless at soldering without my trusty can of flux π
I second the update video idea, it would be great π
