Hey guys I am new here, I have been working on cars since I was about 15 years old with my dad and worked at a tire shop (doing mechanical side work :D) for 8 years to help pay for my college ed. Worked on several cars that family members have owned throughout the years. This 350z I purchased after my 02 Altima’s engine tanked with several pistons producing almost 50psi of wet compression 🙁 @ 127k miles.
I recently had an issue (well known with the VQ engines) with oil in the spark plug tubes. Given that I am very active in the 350z forums, I made a video of the install/mod procedure as well as my personal thoughts on the whole install so it would help someone in the future, who doesn’t want to spend $250+ dollars on a valve cover gasket to fix a “should be removable” $4 seal.
The video is lengthy because it kind of was a spur of the moment idea but I think it illustrates all the points that need to be addressed when performing this fix.
For those of you with 350z’s I hope it helps, and for those without, I hope somehow it helps with your vehicle!
Thanks!
