Always curious to see what cars people HATE working on and what jobs they considered to be the worst and why.

Nissan truck, largely because the owner was a slob and because the truck was a POS… and not a reliable one either.

Vehicles I hate working on most, Jeeps. All versions. Thankfully its usually only a favor for a friend.

As for one of the worst jobs I get to do: 1985-1992 VW Golf/Jetta water pump / T stat replacement. If you get one of the early ones without power steering it goes by pretty smooth. If you get one of the later models with power steering you’re in for it. Belts have to come off, timing cover comes off, altenator comes off, power steering pump bracket comes off, then the pump itself has to be removed – 2 of the bolts are not so well thought out – and then you have to hang the pump some wear nice so you dont brake the hose ends. Once all that is out of the way you’re able to finally see and remove the 2 lousy bolts holding the T stat flange up into the bottom of the water pump and drain the entire system. Its one of the rare occasions I wish VW just did their cooling system like every one eleses, and not effectively upside down.

The only easy part of that job is that its faster to remove the water pump with the housing attached. Its also all of $10 more to buy a new pump with the housing.
