By they ” ” I mean advisors, managers, porters, etc.
Do you guys generally write tickets or do it for cash? A lot of the time I do it for straight cash, being as the old service manager still owes me 20 hrs for putting a engine in his aurora.
Today one of the advisors had me put in some kenwood door speakers in his grand prix, said he’d give me 30 bucks, said all he had was 10, will give me 20 next week. YEAH RIGHT

Your guy’s thoughts? I know it’s kind of a weird question but just wondering how your shop operates.

Hey Sam, It sounds like they are taking advantage of you. You should get the word out these guys can’t be trusted. 20 hrs would be hard to get over.
At the fleet garage I work for, we maintain the owners personal vehicles and always get paid our hourly rate. If one of our drivers gets permission, we work on their stuff also. I think they take the money out of their pay. Personally I like it because It keeps my skills current on vehicles other then taxis and wheelchair vans.

I agree, the manager who stiffed me got fired and later arrested for stealing a motorcycle and basically choppin it so no one could trace it, moron.

I don’t mind doing stuff for people, but if it’s worth offering me money to do it, just pay me for god’s sake. I was slow yesterday and would put the darn speakers in for free, but he offered the money so what do you do.

This happends all the time at my dealership. I’ve learned the hard way sadly enough. I tell everyone if there No R.O (repair order) i’m not working on it. Or if they want me to work on it get it on a repair order.

Cash up front. I’d corner the guy outside of work and shake him down. Its more than $20. Its the principle of him thinking he can rip you off. If its not nipped in the bud he’s going to get the next guy worse. I’m sure the guy that ripped off 20 hours started on a $20 bill and was never taught the proper lesson about some people will take care of business. I had a similar incident outside the shop which I’m currently released from jail on the ankle bracelet for due to overcrowding. Now say what you want about that, and certainly there are consequences to that type of action. But the bottom line is he had done things of this nature for so long without anybody doing anything about it that he felt he was untouchable. He got bold enough to think that would be the same case with me. Took him over a week to see out of his left eye, half a month for his head to heal up enough that there were no marks, and I haven’t heard of him trying to pull any crap on anyone ever since. He’s learned that some people won’t lay down and take it. Since words will never hurt anyone, there are some people who go for the sticks and stones first and get the job done.

Your choice on how to handle it, I personally would rather do time than let the little punks of this world walk all over me like that. Its certainly an extreme viewpoint and I’ll be interested to read the responses from some of you guys. But think of this, what would this world be like if a majority of people did exactly what I did? Wouldn’t things like this be a lot more isolated compared to being rampant as they currently are? That man stole $20 from you just as surely as if he reached into your wallet and grabbed it. He thinks he will get away with that. Thats up to you if he will.

I agree with you and am not sure how much you got stiffed but everything in moderation and that is true for anger and violence as well, nothing against it just try not to ruin someones life.

I agree with cas up front and after a whilde you wont need to do that anymore, Its also different if its an emergency like a window that wont roll up in the winter. or something trivial like putting new speakers in

I either barter (details, dent removal, etc) or take cash. I usually just do the work and we square up later. I havent been stiffed yet but its just a matter of time I guess
