      As an old guy, most of my work has been on pre air bag cars. Now we have my 2004 Silverado and wife’s 2007 Aveo. In the past I would have had no problem going into the steering to replace a multifunction switch or clean horn button contacts. Now I have that air bag looking at me and asking “Do you feel lucky today, punk?”

      Yes, I read the books but I still feel sweaty because the danger and cost of setting off an air bag looks like a bad idea.

        You’re right to be cautious. However, most modern air bags have a short connector built into the airbag connector that prevents accidental deployment. As you may have seen in the Vigor Blower Motor Replacement Video, the others sometimes have a separate connector that you plug in to prevent accidental discharge. In short, the chances of accidental deployment are slim.

        Great suggestion thought. I’ll see what I can do when the opportunity arrises.
