      I need to replace my front windshield … Safelight wants 300$. Is it advisable to get a junk yard shield, purchase a new gasket, and attempt DIY. Other options. Please advise.

        If this is a car you care about, then hire a professional. If its just a beater, then turn it into a learning experience.
        As someone who just did their own for the first time I can tell you, I would gladly pay someone next time.

          I hear you..just trying to save some money…maybe I can find some competitors of Safelite that are more reasonable. Its a car I care about.
