Saw that in my Bio class… fantastic video, great production quality and plethora of good interviews. Love seeing the actors get attached to their electrics and not just the McLaren’s, Ferrari’s, Pagani’s, Bugatti’s, etc…

i say we make a push for a self sustaining Air powered car. both France and Australia have them in prototype.

We Americans look at two sides of the car actually… front and back. lol. But in all seriousness I’ve got to call you on the “who drives more than 90 miles” …and the answer would be quite a few people… including me.

Especially with jobs and the economy tight, people are having to travel farther to work, my commute is about an hour both ways to work on a farm (60 miles) and I do alot of driving to haul crap and procure lumber, concrete, etc… Electrics aren’t quite to the point where they are really good in mountainous regions (where I reside), despite the argument that they have really good low end torque. So electrics are great for city goers but less useful on farms where good suspension and a engine that can pull serious weight are needed more than fuel efficiency. That being said there are some diesel’s and new Electrics that have come a long way in the field and will be offering serious competition to the normal gas powered cars/trucks/suvs. That being said I will eat my words when the Honda FCX Clarity and Chevy Volt go mainstream. Different ends of the spectrum but both are really cool.

@ Jhowe93 just youtubed it, looks cool.

I drive .8 miles to work, and 75-125 miles at work. I deliver pizzas. I drive a ’93 Geo Prizm with a 1.6L 4 popper, a manual trans, and NO options. It gets 30.5 mpg in the city, and I have a lead foot. That car is almost 20 years old now. With the advancements in fuel economy vs. power with more use of turbos and direct injection etc, I don’t see a reason to go full EV. People assume electricity is free, when it really comes from a giant coal powered electricity plant that not only pollutes the air but dumps crap in the water. Not to mention disposal of the batteries when they do fail.

What i find funny is GM still crushed them rather than selling them even when fuel was getting more expensive.

To me this just proves how stupid GM was/is we are not intrested in electric cars so will will make a hummer, serevral years later we will stop making hummers as their is not demand for them.

Waste of money making cars like that.

All though i know not all americans are like this.

But are americans just looking at once fucking side to a car?

Who would drive more than 90Miles in one day?

Most common thing for the adult

              Wake up
              Go to work
              Come home from work

              Repeat

This would not use more than 50mi at most unless you work far away some where.

I would have loved an EV since this is all i do.

And now GM is making EV someone should tell them that their is no demand for them and we want a car that uses 40 gallons per mile like a hummer.
