When Should I Change Oil

My 99 civic currently has 53,300 miles.
The last oil change was 11/14/15 with 51,075 miles using full systhetic oil. Owners manual says change oil every 7k miles. That time frame may be 3 yrs from now. Can you please supply expert opinions on when the next oil change should occurr.

I would not go further than a year even with full synthetic. If you take infrequent short trips and the car does not get up to temperature, I probably would do every 6 months.

I’m surprised that the owners manual does not have a max time between oil changes. You could try contacting Honda and see if they have a recommendation.

I will second every 6 months. At the very least it give you an opportunity to look for leaks or other problems that may need correcting.
