      Dear Mr. Erick,

Thanks for providing us such wonderful platform.

I have posted this issue before somewhere but i am unable to track its link.

I have For Focus 2007 Wagon. I have recently faced AC issue so i changed my compressor from used spare parts shop…

      Now the scenario is:

They have put the compressor in car but in compressor, the revolving part of new compressor is slightly big in diameter than what they have removed from my car….so for this they have also put a few cm larger belt to work properly.

Now after that the issue i am noticing in my car is: AC cooling is perfect when in parking…Air pressure from vent is also good but sometime i have noticed that when i drive the car on road THE AC COMPRESSOR TURN OFF AND ON BY ITSELF. AGAIN AND AGAIN..I CAN’T SEE ANY THING VISUALLY ON AC SWITCH PANEL BUT I CAN FEEL COOL AIR AND THEN ANOTHER AIR COME LIKE RAINING SMELL WITH NO COOLING (frequently with random time)………IN THE SAME TIME I CAN LISTEN RELAY SOUNDs LIKE..TICK….TICK….

Do you think the problem is AC revolving part diameter size(what you call it ….dont know…i am beginner)? What can be the problem in actual..?

An example picture i have attached…i circled the part of compressor as well.

The AC compressor is cycling (engaging and disengaging) on / off
        That is normal.
What your smelling may be moisture (condensation) from the evaporator.

          Dear Mr. Eric,

Really appreciates your friendly and timely reply. I have saved money because of your help to me.
Whenever you come to UAE, must meet me. We will have good time together.

Mr. Eric, regarding AC compressor………i listen tick tick sound from relay frequently…specially when i drive on road….. i can understand ac trip on / off status but dont you think it is little be awkward ….like tripping in this way…….i noticed compressor off time is less than cooling time.

The A/C compressor is designed to cycle on and off when it reaches a set cabin temperature and operating pressure.(sensors)
The “ticking” sound your hearing is most likely the A/C compressor clutch engaging and disengaging.
The cycling times will vary depending on the load put on the A/C system.
Meaning the hotter it is, the more the compressor will run before cycling off.
