I have a 07 accord with 56k miles. I’ve done my brakes at 40k. I haven’t felt any vibrations while braking, but I’m just curious when I should replace my rotors? Look forward to your responses, thanks!

You replace them if they are warped or below their service limit… Most all rotors are stamped somewhere with their minimum thickness specifications. Use a caliper to determine the thickness..

If they are uneven or slightly scratched, you may get away with having them turned, but because rotors are relatively inexpensive, it usually is easier just to get new rotors…

I second karls advice. New ones are not much more and you don’t have to deal with the hassle of having them turned.

I will third this advice. Unless you have a tapered roller bearing setup, rotors should cost you $25-$35 apiece… which is about what a shop would charge you to turn them. There are some distinct advantages, mostly a new surface and thicker material (which helps tremendously in heat distribution… a very important job).

Just be sure you get the rust inhibitor off with brake clean and avoid getting silicone or grease on the rotor… don’t ask me how I know this…
