Was it on a Honda or another car make? My fluid don’t look that dirty and to fill up the whole tranny, it would take 7.5 qts and I only 6.5 qts. Just a drain and fill it’s 2.5 qts for me. I have drain and filled I think twice already and not many miles since. Thus I think I am just going to do another drain and fill. These Honda brand are expensive. I got it recently for $5 per qt and that is a great deal.

Eric also mentions a similar practice for doing a ‘flush’ also in this video –

Call the dealer first what fluid is used.Don’t use the specific fluid,do damage to the transmission.

I was thinking that makes more sense too.

I do it this way also with the A604 Chrysler tranny every 50,000 miles. I change the filter every 50,000 miles also halfway between the complete tranny flushes so every 25,000 there’s new fluid going in. I didn’t see the guy in the video change the filter though.
