Hello forum. I have 97 accord ex 2.2 vtec, what should the rpm”s be when driving at 75 80 mph steady. Mine reads 3000 to 3200 is the correct or normal. i also changed both sets of selenoids that on the transmission located by the trans dipstick it didnt really change from the before to after. I got it scanned at autozone but i really cant remember what the name of the part i needed also it could be the tcu(hope not)i rember it was three letters iether tcu or tcc.

I would have the CEL scanned again and let us know what the code is so we can help you more.

the rpm at those speeds sound reasonable.

On the 97 accords you can short the blue two pin electrical connector under the glove box using a piece of wire. Then turn the key to the II position and don’t try to start the car. The check engine light will flash the ECU codes, the D4 light will flash the TCU codes.

The 97 is OBD2, but still has the connector to short like the OBD1 accords.

If you can feel the transmission going through all the gears without slippage, i am sure those RPM readings are fine for that speed.

Well no codes came up when scanned so i gues its all good (for now) and i also have a extra pair of selenoids for only $10 so yeah im happy.

+1 on those RPM’s being normal for that speed and since you don’t have any codes there’s probably no problem.
