Let’s hear it people, dont be ashamed…Is it a car your still own? A car that you wish you still owned?

mine was a 1967 SS396 4-speed Chevelle that i bought in 1986 for $1k….feel like hanging myself for trading it for a brand new set of tires, just because i got tired of putting camshafts in it…..What’s your story…

Technically, although I don’t always acknowledge it, my first car a 1998 Plymouth Voyager. V6 and by the time I got it it had about 220k miles and what felt like 50hp. 0-60 22 seconds.

In a way the crummy van got me started on working on cars since I figured it wasn’t worth paying someone to fix it since it was such a junker and if I broke it it wouldn’t really matter. So I did pretty much all the work myself. Damn rust bucket nearly got me killed twice on the freeway. Had a bad habit of turning off at the wrong times. Also got into 2 accidents with it, was rear ended both times(while the van was working fine). Was such a warrior though she took the hits and kept on rolling.

I bought my DC2 february of last year and then my mom sold the van for $500. I will say I do kinda miss it sometimes. Would I go back to it? Hell no….but would probably still take it out for a drive or two. Had some good times with it, real love/hate relationship.

1998 Ford Escort bought the car with 63000 miles on it and it only cost 2300. I still have this car and am still in love with it! This car has taken me every where and it still is. Its the car that got me driving and the car that got me started on doing my own car work,

1995 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L I6. Great vehicle, and in some ways I wish I still had it. Neat little truck that got me around; drained gas but man did it run!

My first car was a 2004 fiat panda 1.1, it was bought at an auction quite cheap, although the rear window was smashed, the inside was all moldy and needed stripping out and replacement, the front door had to be replaced. It was great fun when it was running but the engine blew and i couldn’t get another one cheap enough.

1985 Chevy S-10 Blazer. It was a good looking little 4×4, but couldn’t get out of its own way with the 2.3l engine it had.

My first car is a 1999 Buick Century. It has 175,000 miles. I got it back in 2010. I’ve replaced a lot of things on it. I still have it to this day and it runs like new.

I asked my mom what her first car was. It was a 1967 GTO convertible. I asked her what engine. “I don’t know” I would give a kidney for that car…

🙂 First car was a 1990 VW Jetta. Automatic.. I spent many nights and weekends fixing that old beast. Its like it knew when I got my pay from work. Something new would break on it. Had 289000km when I sold her back in 2005. Wish I never did. Was sentimental to me. Built a great relationship between me and my grandfather that car did. Miss it a lot.

                          1970 Ford mustang Mach 1

it was all show and no go. that car drank every dollar I made.learned alot about cars though.I think Ford has done a great thing by bringing the mustang
back.I like the yester year look with modern technology of today.

                            ’63 Ford Falcon Sedan . 144 ci 6 cyl 2 speed auto

I bought it for $25 from a relative when I was 15. Everything on the car from the paint to all mechanical parts were completely worn out even though it was only a few years old when I bought it…..no idea how many miles on it. Top speed was 70 mph with blue smoke completely obscuring the view to the rear. The front end was so shot that I spent Saturdays cruising around buying used tires at gas stations for $2 to $3 a pop. (No tire centers in those days, people bought tires at gas stations) Some oil passages in the motor were plugged up and part of the valve train got no lubrication, so I had to replace pushrods and rocker arms when the pushrods wore through the stamped rockers. Pushrods were maybe a dollar and change and rocker arms were 2-3 dollars. I sold it for $50 a few months later when one of the front wheels fell off while I was driving to school.

1969 Pontiac Bonneville. It was a monster. I loved that car…. Owned it in the late ’70s…. fuel was still under a dollar a gallon I think. Got it for $300 from a woman who had recently been widowed… she just wanted to get rid of it.

Its technically my dad’s, though its close enough to being mine… Got it last year when I turned 17 (though its been a part of the family since 2003.) A 1991 Honda Accord EX-R CB7. The thing runs amazingly considering its 21 years old. Shifts clean, doesn’t burn oil
