Recently I bought a new long handle 3/8″ ratchet from Jet. Its no Snap-On ratchet but is still decent quality. What I like most with the Jet stuff like all the good tool manufactures they will warranty it for life.
I ended up buying it because earlier in the week I tried to warranty a Huskey 3/8″ ratchet. The block literally snapped off, and I gave a decent amount of blood to the Jeep I was working on. All I wanted was either a new ratchet or new guts for it but the customer service bitch at Home Depot insisted that without a receipt they wouldn’t do anything for me. I left rather un happy and even walked past the massive Tool Cab that was on sale that moments earlier I was going to probably buy for home.
Moral of the story, don’t buy tools at Home Depot unless you’re making something out of wood.

February 13, 2014 at 4:46 am #574509Craftsman Bolt-On impact driver attachment. Actually pretty impressive. I’d obviously use my air tools for bigger projects but its great for quick repairs.

March 7, 2014 at 8:01 am #579041The last tool I bought was my first torque wrench (a clicker type, 10-150 ft-lbs., 1/2″ drive by Autocraft). I read the reviews before I bought it. I was originally going to purchase the 3/8″ drive torque wrench, in part, because my current inventory are 3/8″ but the reviews were not as favorable as they were for the 1/2.” Although I had to buy the 1/2″ drive socket set (and still need the 1/2″ deep well socket set), I am very pleased with my purchase. I used it a couple days ago to torque my wheel lugs to spec and it works like it should! 🙂 Remember to always store it at “0,” have it calibrated once a year and never loosen bolts with a torque wrench!

March 8, 2014 at 6:20 am #586170Most recently, I purchased a new 1/2″ Impact universal joint (incorrectly called “wobbly”) because the one I had walked away.
1/2″ drive 18MM 6pt shallow impact socket
Set of 3/8″ Impact universal jointed sockets. 6pt metric.
All MATCO.
I tried to get away with not having them, but my impact gun tore up my Craftsman universal joint & peeled the chrome on my Snappy 18MM socket. And I needed the shallower depth of an 18MM 3/8″ drive socket so I just broke down & bought the whole thing cause it’s faster to grab the 13MM when I need it than to grab my universal & a regular 13MM.
