What is this switch?

I just bought a 2003 Silverado with a 4800 V8. There is a switch under the steering wheel. Nothing is written on it except for “AU-SI-N.” I have no idea what it is. I think it’s spliced into the ignition wiring. As far as I can tell all it does is make the attached red light bulb flash on and off. It’s not a kill switch (or if it is it doesn’t work) and there are no after market lights installed. The instrument cluster does not work except for the blinkers and check engine light and I think this might be the reason why.

Well I can’t add a pic or figure out how to edit so I will add a link to a pic of it later. But for now it is a small black box (5″ x 1.5″ x 1″) with 3 relays (S0226 x2, 49400) and 5 wires spliced in to the vehicle’s wiring (a red and a white 8 or 10ga and 3 16ga (pink, yellow, purple) and an on/off switch and red blinking light.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm system installed?
If so it may be a valet switch.
