      Hello to everybody
does anybody know the right way to change a fuel pump on a 97 silverado 4.3 vortec(6 cylinders)I been trying twice and still not sure
truck is working good but the fuel gauge seems like not really, when I put the key in the on position
gauge goes from empty to full like crazy, all wires are hooked up correctly. and when I try to turn it on seems to take a little longer than the normal. Any advice or website than I can visit to fix this problem

                🙂 Hello COLLEGE MAN

I did exactly the same thing and this the second time with the same results the only different thing is I had to cut some wires and make some wire connections

this is the second time you help me out with my cars (i’m the one with overheating problems on my 98 honda civic).
I know i had old cars but that’s all i can afford for now man and I really appreciate your help and sorry to be bothering you I’m just trying to save a little money

Are you sure that the pump or sending unit is the issue? If it’s just the gauge operation it could also be a wiring issue or a problem with the cluster. If the problem happened after you replaced the pump then you might be on the right track with a sending unit or installation problem. Keep us posted on what you find.
