What is the best brand/value ball joints?

At Rockauto, what is the best brand of ball joints for quality and value?

I’m about to replace the front strut on my fathers 05 tundra, v8 4wd

I’m doing a pre-repair inspection, and found 1 upper and 1 lower bad joint and some cracking in the rubber bushings on the sway bar,

I figure i would replace everything that i could/that need to be replaced.

Is there a good way to test control arm bushings w/o disassembly?

You could ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. moog,beck/arnley are good brands.

Do NOT buy polyurethane bushings or CAs with them installed. They may last longer – but are awfully soft and compress very badly. I am big fan of PU but after I had them on my Silverado – never again. Go for g’ol rubber.

I wouldn’t be worried about cracked joint bellows.
ALL AND ANY CA bushing I have ever seen, besides new ones, have some sort of spider cracks on the outside.
Otherwise, get a long pry bar and have it at CAs. You really have to move them back and fore to see if bushings are bad.

Moog is a good brand. So is AC Delco. The only thing bad about rubber bushings is they dry rot and wear out. Polyurethane ones last a lot longer which is a good thing to me.
