      What is making my tachometer needle jump, it’s only doing this when I put it in Drive?

      69 El Camino 350 with turbo-350 trans.

        If your RPM gauge is fluctuating, that is usually a sign of a mixture issue or a ignition issue.

        I would be checking for vacuum leaks to begin with.

          It could be a lot of things really. Is it just your tach that’s jumping or do you feel the engine idle changing as well. If it’s just the tach it could be an electrical issue (check the connections). If it’s also the engine rpm that’s jumping then I would look for a performance issue.
