OK, so I have a 1989 Honda Accord Lxi, 5 speed MT, A20A3, 4-dr sedan.

Years ago I was working under the hood doing some cleaning and took this part off/out. I am pretty sure was under the hood and fairly certain this piece came from under the hood.

Now I really wouldn’t care much, since it is “just a hunk of plastic” but watching one of Eric’s videos he mentioned that even a part that cost Honda a few cents to make, has to be important otherwise they would not bother making and installing it!

So I’m looking to put this “important” piece back into the car. I suspect I’ll get a 20% increase in performance no doubt! :silly:

Part number stamped inside appears to be 74855-SE3-J100. It is made in the USA and also has “SE3X” stamped on it. Oh and don’t forget the “T/C” also stamped on it.

I looked up part numbers, but didn’t find it, so perhaps I was looking at the wrong thing? Some similar numbers come up but they suggest the part is from the trunk? Huh?

So who has knowledge way back to this car and can tell me where this thing goes?

Ought to be a special reward for whom ever gets this…. now let’s see……

          Oh my! YOU!

Typed those numbers into one of the parts sites – apparently I was using the wrong one (estore.honda.com) This will be my new source.

Hey, how did you know to drop a zero off the end of the part number?

Thank you for the find and the education! Much appreciated!!!

          I owe you one!

Happy to help. I tried all the numbers then left some off and bingo. 🙂

So the final part of my “Thank You”

Here is the part installed back in its “natural habitat!”
