Hello everybody on etcg. I am having a little bit of trouble with my car it is a 1991 civic si. The problem i am having is that the distributor has failed twice within the past couple of months. They were not new parts I bought rebuilt ones from OReilly. What could cause them to fail so often? Is there something else I should be looking for? The cause of this? Or is the cause is just a crappy part that I got? Thanks everybody

The aftermarket stuff on Honda is junk.
Get an oe distributor even if its from a
        salvage yard.

Honda ignition systems are a bit different, I’ve seen brand-name US made spark plugs break down in a week. I would not be surprised if these ignition systems can break down wires and distributors too.

Aftermarket distributors are problems in every car it seems. They are mass rebuilt with the cheapest parts they can find by people who don’t give a damn. When you get one from Honda you get genuine Honda parts inside.
