Welding the exhaust manifold

Eric, in one of your videos, you had welded the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter on your son’s Civic. We have the same generation of Civic and I ended up replacing the part with a cheaper cat, less than a year before I saw your video. But I held onto the old one.

Did your repair hold up?

I thought of attempting it myself but don’t know if a MAP torch will get it hot enough, or if my welder is strong enough to do it (it’s good for thinner metals, but don’t know how it would penetrate the manifold).
