This forum is started by suggestion from one of the forum members, SpawnedX. The idea behind it is to have a place where technicians can talk about their experiences and ideas concerning their careers and profession. Think of it as sort of an extension to ETCG1 were we talk about things that concern us and the automotive industry. This is for technicians only so please don’t post automotive questions here. If you are a technician welcome to this forum, if not please stay behind the yellow line. Perhaps we can start by introducing ourselves.
I’m Eric Cook aka EricTheCarGuy. I’ve worked as a professional technician since 1996 and have been an ASE master technician for the past 15 years. I worked for Acura at the dealer for about 8 years and spent the rest of my time working at aftermarket shops on both imports and domestics. I’m also an Acura certified master technician which I got as a result of my training at Acura. For a brief time I ran a Carx after I lost my job at Acura, that was interesting and challenging in many ways but I did work with some good people there and learned a lot about running an automotive business as a result of that experience. Now I have a successful auto repair show on the internet as well as a successful website and forum. To be honest my favorite job so far has been working as ETCG, it seems my entire career including my termination from Acura has led me to this place and I could not be happier with the result. I suppose that just goes to show you never know where you’re going to end up.

Thanks man, the chevy dealer my dealer aquired has a sister toyota dealer, they sold a lot of them outta the chevy store. May have to hit you up on some info haha

I am a hyundai tech to be more specific i am an apprentice..thanks to a lot of experienced techs i have moved up greatly in this career..if anyone has any questions about hyundai vehicles please feel free to ask and i will be happy to answer them to the best of my abilities.

Hello wonderful pepole of Eric the car guy I am a Mechanic with Volkswagen specialities I worked for a vw specialized repair Garage for 13 years until I got fed up with the constant bull about the flat rate system and other various bull things i have encountered over the years. I have made the jump to elevator constructor and love the job but I am a gear head at heart still and when I get some spare time I find myself wrenching on something of the car nature. I have come accross the Eric the car guy web site on you tube and was really interested on how honest he was and I felt like finally someone saying the truth about the automotive industry all its ups and downs anyhow keep up the good work and I will try to respond to Vee dub questions that pop up on youre forums

Hi guys my names Erik i currently am a dodge jeep chrysler tech. I am silver certified in hyundai being thats the first dealer i started at and i hold a lincoln tech degree. Ive been a tech for about 3 years in a dealer now and i love to learn. I am level 3 in most of the areas for chrysler.

This my 1post. My name is Aram Ariai and I am from Norway.I am 24 years and I got my Professional certification 2010 as mecanic for big cars like trucks-buses and passenger cars.
Last 2 Months I work at Norways biggest Mercedes Benz company. I got also certification to work on Mercedes Benz. I am sorry for my bad english,but Iam here to learn more from you guys.Lets learn from each other!!
